German rider victorious on the first day at the Baborówko Jumping Show

The first day of the international showjumping competition – Baborówko Jumping Show 2022 is already behind us. The program includes CSI2*, CSI1*, CSIYH1*, CSIP and CSICh classes. The most important class ended with the win of a German athlete, but Polish rider Daria Kobiernik shone as she was the best in 3 other classes. 

49 pairs competed in the Big Tour class, at the height of 140 cm, for the prize of the Staroste of Szamotuły and under the patronage of the Polish Equestrian Association. The best one today was Germany’s Philipp Schober with GUESSINA. Second place, only 0,2 seconds behind, went to Marek Lewicki (POL) with ITOULON B, and Tomasz Miśkiewicz (POL) was third with CASTIGO DE AMOR.  

In the Middle Tour (130 cm), for the prize of Grupa Generali, the winner was Daria Kobiernik (POL) riding SONET, before Dawid Skiba (POL) with ZANZIBAR L and Szymon Tęcza (POL) riding BUENO L. 

In the Youngster Tour for 6- and 7-year-old horses, victory belonged to Kobiernik riding DONNA NEVA S. Dawid Skiba (POL) with KASPER was second, and Belgium’s Jan Vinckier finished third with KANULA. 6 combinations were clear in the 5-year-old rivalry: Aleksander Lewandowski (POL) with CRISTAL BLUE D'IVE Z, Angeliki Podgórna (POL) with NERRADO, Leszek Gramza (POL) with MAYFLOWER VAN DE MUGGENHOEK, Marek Waclawik (POL) with MICHA, Szymon Tęcza (POL) riding GUALLATIRA-L and Dawid Skiba (POL) with NEW ESCOBAR L.

In the Small Tour (120 cm), for the prize of Palace Baborówko, Daria Kobiernik was the best once again with VENUS, before Nadia Lehmann (POL) with SILVER STAR and Marta Konarska (POL) riding LILI MARLENE. 

January Włoch (POL) won the Special Tour (110 cm) class riding FRANKE. Here, the second place went to Wiktoria Żujewska (POL) with CAPRICCIO, and third to Natalia Brzozowska (POL) with FINISH. 

The rivalry in the Children Tour class, for the prize of Sklep Stajnia, ended with the win of Amelia Zięba (POL) with GILEA. Nel Skotarczak (POL) finished second with DREAM ON, and Tola Świerczyńska (POL) was third with DUDOK L. 

Jagoda Kierznowska (POL) was the winner of the Pony Tour class with BENJA LUNA. Olga Patecka (POL) was second with BOCO AN MHUILEANN, and third went to Hubert Aniołek (POL) riding OISIN BIOR DUBH.

 

The competition is being held over three days at two arenas. Baborówko Equestrian Centre has at its disposal an impressive sports infrastructure, modernized in 2019-2021, which includes, among others, three quartz arenas with a seepage system, measuring: 12,000 sq m. (the largest quartz square in Poland at the moment), 7,000 sq m. and 2,000 sq m. Baborówko is also famous for its great atmosphere and great organization.

Baborówko Equestrian Centre has been known so far for the organization of international eventing competitions, during which it hosted the most titled foreign and Polish competitors, Olympic champions, world champions and FEI ranking leaders, such as representatives of Germany, Michael Jung and Ingrid Klimke, or the British eventer, Oliver Townend. This year, in addition to eventing and show jumping, Baborówko will host the first international competition and a Nations Cup in driving - Baborówko Driving Show (September 2-4).
