Baborówko – new challenges for 2022

After an intense year of 2021, 2022 in Baborówko promises to be even more exciting. Next season, as many as 4 international equestrian events in 3 different disciplines will take place here. The sports schedule of the Baborówko Equestrian Center will be complemented by a number of national competitions.

The season will begin with the flagship Baborówko eventing show – Equestrian Festival Baborówko, which will be held on May 26-29, 2022. It will be the 15th edition of this event, which in previous years hosted such world equestrian stars as Oliver Townend (GBR), Michael Jung (GER) and Ingrid Klimke (GER). In 2022 the athletes will compete, among others, in CCI4*-L and CCI4*-S classes, and as part of the latter – the Polish Senior Eventing Championships will be held once again. The total pool of financial prizes will amount to EUR 92,000, which will again place this event among the top ten most subsidized eventing shows in the world.

At the turn of June and July, the Baborówko Equestrian Center will host an international showjumping competition for the first time. The program of Baborówko Jumping Show, planned for 30.06–03.07.2022 at the CSI2* rank, will include two Longines Rankings classes. Young horse competitions will be played out in the CSIYH1*. The total prize pool will reach EUR 55,000.

At the beginning of September, also for the first time in Baborówko, an international competition in four-in-hand and pair driving will take place – Baborówko Driving Show on 1-4 September 2022. Certainly, a unique spectacle awaits the fans. Despite its debut in the organization of international competitions in driving, Baborówko Equestrian Center obtained the right to organize the Nations Cup. Four-in-hand driving, which is not only extremely spectacular, but also very difficult, will provide great emotions and impressions. The Nations Cup competition will be held in the CAIO4*-H4 and CAIO4*-H2 classes. The prize pool will reach a considerable amount of EUR 74,000.

The development of equestrian sport and the promotion of equestrianism is very important to us. Every year we take up new challenges to provide both fans and athletes with new impressions and sports emotions at the highest level. – says Henryk Święcicki jr., Director of the show in Baborówko – Thanks to the modern infrastructure, our experience, and the trust of the patron of the event Mr. Roman Roszkiewicz, we can introduce new ideas and plans. This year it includes the organization of international competitions in show jumping and driving for the first time in Baborówko. But it is not everything. With a view to organizing competitions in new equestrian disciplines, we are building another quartz arena with an irrigation system, measuring ​​12,000 square meters (120 m x 100 m) and new obstacle complexes for the marathon test in the driving competitions. – summarizes Henryk Święcicki jr.

The end of the sports season in Baborówko is the eventing Baborówko Autumn Show, held from September 29th to October 2nd, 2022. As always, the Final of the Polish Eventing Cup will be played out in all age categories. The CCI4*-S competition will be the highest-ranked class of the event.

Baborówko is famous for its great atmosphere and great organizational conditions. The modern sports infrastructure consists of three arenas with quartz footing and irrigation system: ​​12,000 m2 (commissioned in 2022), 10,000 m2 and 2,100 m2, as well as an arena with a professional grass footing, measuring ​​10,000 m2. The cross-country course runs through the picturesque areas of the Baborówko Equestrian Center and among others, through the park surrounding the historic Palace. It also includes two impressive water complexes.
